The Canyons is located just north of Park City. The Canyons features six lifts, including Utah’s only gondola and three new high speed detachable quads. And there’s more than 200 acres of new terrain—terrain that once could be reached only with a long hike. Snowmaking has also been increased by 100% and there is a new Red Pine Day Lodge at mid mountain. The area now totals 2,200 acres of terrain, the same size as Alberta, Snowbird, and Park City.
This skier’s-only mountain has been annually ranked by SKI Magazine as one of the top resorts in North America for good reason: personal experience is king at this high-end ski resort. The resort limits the number of lift ticket sold daily to just over 7,000, while its actual uphill capacity tops out near 50,000.
If you look to the south in Salt Lake City you'll see the airy peaks of the Wasatch Mountains, home to the world -renowned ski areas of Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude just 30 minutes from downtown.
