Canadians must also be in possession of a valid visa to visit Sri Lanka. For stays of up to 30 days, you can apply for a tourist visa online using the Electronic Travel Authority. Travellers should check with the High Commission for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka or one of its consulates for up-to-date information.
Due to Sri Lanka`s close proximity to the Equator, temperatures are fairly constant. The coastal and lowland area`s daytime temperature fall between 26–30°C. Humidity is quite high across the country, averaging sixty to eighty percent throughout.
Due to the two separate monsoons that affect Sri Lanka, the best time to visit the west and south coasts and hill country is from December to March, while one would find nice weather on the east coast from April/May to September.
