Italy is host to one of the most hospitable climates in the world. Known for warm, dry summers and mild winters. The northern and southern regions of Italy vary noticeably in temperature during the colder months, with the north`s briskness comparable to that of other countries in the northern hemisphere.
If you wish to avoid a dense tourist presence, the best time to visit Italy is April to late June, and September or October. Travelling in the off-peak months will allow for a more genuine Italian experience but temperature will restrict swimming to the southern regions.
