• Two main seasons: winter (wet season) and summer (dry season), however the weather varies greatly depending on the geographical region.
• Temperature is influenced by elevation; in general, the temperature decreases about 6°C with every 1000m increase in altitude.
• When at sea level, if the average temperature is 30°C, it will be around 24°C at 1000m, 18°C at 2000m and 12°C at 3000m.
The best time to visit Colombia is between December and March or in July and August during the dry season especially when going hiking. The dry season is also when travellers can experience all the local cultural events that happen during this time.
